Wishmakers on Campus is a program designed for schools to give their students the opportunity to raise funds to grant the wishes of our local children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength and joy.
Being a part of Wishmakers on Campus not only helps increase the awareness of Make-A-Wish and our presence in Virginia, it also fosters concepts including community service, entrepreneurship, money management, teamwork, creativity, leadership, and school spirit.
Students manage the program from start to finish by developing fundraising ideas and putting their plan into action. This could include implementing a Wishmakers on Campus Club, developing its mission statement, bylaws, officers and activities, or by hosting your very own campus fundraiser(s). Either way, by participating in Wishmakers on Campus, various leadership roles will emerge and the value of community service is highlighted. Through your hands–on experience you will help raise necessary funds to grant wishes while creating partnerships inside and outside the classroom, enabling everyone involved to share the power of a wish®.
