I want to make wishes come true! 

You can bring a child’s wish to reality with your support of the Make-A-Wish Foundation® of Greater Virginia through our Adopt-A-Wish® Program. With your generous gift, you have the power to inspire hope, sustain strength, and bring joy to our wish children and their families by granting one, simple, most desired wish.

The Adopt-A-Wish® program enables you, your family, your company, your school or your organization to become a part of this magic. By adopting a wish, you have the opportunity to become connected to the wish experience through the Make-A-Wish Foundation® of Greater Virginia. Every individual wish is a unique and memorable experience for the wish child, the wish family and all those who participate in the wish, from volunteers to donors. Many donors say they began their support of the Make-A-Wish Foundation® and its endearing mission after hearing a specific child’s memorable wish story.

While wishes are unique expressions of each child’s imagination, they typically fall into one of four categories:

 I wish to go… Wish children dream to visit a specific location of their dreams: their first trip to see the ocean, a trip to visit their favorite cartoon character, or even visit people who have touched their lives in the past.

 I wish to be… Wish children think beyond the day to day: wishes to become a fire fighter, chef or magical super hero, even if just for one day.

 I wish to meet… Dreaming big, wish children often think of who they want to meet: a musical artist, their favorite athlete or other person of influence in their lives.

 I wish to have… Inspired Wish Children dream to have that one special item: a new and furry family member, a special place to spend time with their families, or a special computer that helps them communicate.

This year, we will make more than 240 amazing wishes happen at the Make-A-Wish Foundation® of Greater Virginia.  For each wish to become a reality, it takes dedicated volunteers, in-kind donations and the generosity of people like you.  Although we strive to ensure that 40% of each wish is supported by gifts in-kind, additional resources are always needed.

 Your gift of $8,000: 

A gift of $8,000 grants the wish of a child to visit a special theme park, bring a new puppy into the family, have a complete room make-over or enjoy a shopping spree experience!

You can help create more heartwarming stories for children with life-threatening medical conditions through the Adopt-A-Wish® program. The Make-A-Wish Foundation® covers all costs associated with a wish: including transportation, food, lodging and admission fees for the entire wish family. When you Adopt-A-Wish®, we will provide you with a special story about your wish adoption, so that you can see how your contribution brings joy to a courageous wish child.
