We're hosting a wish granter volunteer training in Roanoke!

Wish granters work in teams of two to help make wishes come true. This role involves interviewing the child and family to determine the wish, working with staff to help fulfill the wish, helping the child stay engaged while waiting for the wish to happen and throwing a wish party when the wish is granted. Time commitment varies, depending on the type of wish and number of wishes you are involved with. The wish interview and granting almost always take place in the evening or on a weekend. We are looking for volunteers who can make a long-term commitment (minimum of one year).  (Minimum age:  21)

Latest Status Update

  • A wish granted helps give children with critical illnesses the strength to keep fighting. These awe-inspiring wishes don’t just happen - it takes support from partners like Macy's to transform the lives of wish kids and their families. This year, Macy’s raised $9 million for Make-A-Wish through its Thanks for Sharing and Believe campaigns. Thanks, Macy’s, for your continued support and commitment to transforming lives, one wish at a time!
